脇田美術館 2025年秋 企画展「今をつくる手たち」

• 

ベルリンでの学びを経て、戦後は日米をはじめとする国際的な美術交流に積極的に参加し、国内外で精力的に活動を展開してきた脇田和。その彼が美術館を設立した目的の一つに、「自らの美学・哲学を追求する表現者たちに、その空間を開放し、創作活動を支援したい」という強い想いがありました。
本企画では、日本画や漆芸・木彫・金工等、伝統技法を駆使しながら現代的感覚で独創的な作品を表現している現代の美術作家やアートを志す学生たちの作品を「国際交流」「自然と人との調和」「日本的自然観の国際的昇華」といったテーマに基づいて展示します。また、出品作品の一部は販売可能であり、作品の販売にも取り組むことで、美術館における新たな創作支援のかたちをここから模索し、未来へと育てていく試みとしたいと考えております。
本展を通じて美術の魅力をより多くの人々に伝える啓蒙的な役割を果たすとともに、作家の自立的な活動を後押しし次世代を担う有望なアーティストの育成と応援を目指します。

Wakita Museum of Art 2025 Fall Special Exhibition "The Hands that Create the Present"

A place Where Generations, Countries, Nature and People Meet Beyond Boundaries

September 7th (Sunday) through November 4th (Tuesday), 2025

After studying in Berlin, Wakita Kazu actively participated in international art exchanges, including those between Japan and the United States, after the war, and was energetically involved in activities both at home and abroad. One of his reasons for establishing the museum was his strong desire to "open up a space for artists who pursue their own aesthetics and philosophies and support their creative activities."
This project will feature works by contemporary artists and aspiring art students who create original works with a modern sensibility, while making full use of traditional techniques such as Japanese painting, lacquerware, wood carving, and metalwork, based on the themes of "international exchange," "harmony between nature and humans," and "international sublimation of the Japanese view of nature." Some of the exhibited works will be available for sale, and by engaging in sales of works, we hope to explore new ways of supporting creative work at the museum and continue to further develop into the future.
In the future, we hope to make this project a regular event and provide young artists with a continuous platform to present their work, thereby supporting their activities. Through this exhibition, we aim to play an educational role in conveying the allure of art to as many people as possible, as well as to support the independent activities of artists and foster and encourage promising artists who will lead the next generation.
